Why do shake in the cold - Elderbrook

There’s something about this track.

It makes me think about some the little moments throughout my life..

The moments when I felt free. The moments when I felt scared. The moments when I felt hopeful. The moments when I felt lost.

But more than anything, it makes me think of the moments when I felt alone…even when I was with someone. When my mind would drift off. When I wanted to hit pause. When I wanted to be someplace else.

It reminds me of the last time I shook in the cold.

It was august but I was shaking. I had all my clothes on but I was shaking. I had every blanket in the room on top of me but I was shaking. Someone tucked me in like a burrito but I was shaking.

But the last thing I wanted was to be tucked in by him.

The last thing I wanted was to be in his home.

I wanted to drift off.

I wanted to hit pause.

I wanted to be someplace else

…that wasn’t so cold
