This is the incredibly beautiful track I need right now.

It’s been a long morning. There have been revelations, tears, laughs, conversations about COVID, dairy, isolation, tiger moms, The Americans, love, god, nature, BoJack Horseman, friendship, and relationships. And that was all before 10am.

So, yeah, I really need this track right now.

This morning, one of the hardest things about COVID hit me hard: the loneliness.

It’s nothing new. And we’re all going through it. But this morning was felt like a second wave.

It’s hard to be so disconnected from people. People are the conduit of so much of my life. And that absence is beginning to feel unsettling. It’s forcing me to look at things differently. It’s forcing me to re-explore the things I usually experience through people - connection, belonging, love - what does experiencing these without people look like?

Becky and I talked about this for almost an hour. It didn’t feel that long to be honest. And where we landed made so much sense that it almost felt weird that it hadn’t been clearer. But I’m going to sit with it for a while.

I’m going to go find some water, some trees, some mountains, and some desert and take it all in.

So, yeah, I really need this track right now.
