I’ve been listening to this track on repeat for a while.
While I do yoga. While I go on walks. While I sit in my hanging chair in my back yard. It’s been my go to for quiet moments during all fo this.
Those moments are really important to me. Because I know they’re rare. I know they’re a luxury that not every one has during this time. So I don’t take them for granted. And I make the most of them
So many of my friends have been sharing the lifestyle changes they’ve been making during Covid. But I’m more curious about what changes after this. It’s great that they’ve taken this time to eat healthy, work out, or meditate. But what will they do that when things shift again? When they get a little more freedom will of these new habits go by the wayside? Will they go back to their old ways?
In these quiet moments (when I listen to this track), I am made painfully aware of the actions, behaviors, and thoughts I have that aren’t great for me. And I’m am painfully aware of the effort it takes to do things differently and not go back to my old ways.
In these quiet moments (when I listen to this track), I can feel my eyes opening. In these quiet moments (when I listen to this track), I can feel myself shifting in a different direction . In these quiet moments (when I listen to this track), I can feel how uncomfortable this shift is.
But in these quiet moments (when I listen to this track), I know how important this discomfort is. I know how needed this discomfort is. Because I know when I get a little more freedom, it’ll be worth it. Because when I get a little more freedom, I won’t be going back to my old ways.
