Love Again | Ta-ku

Who knew that taking a personal day from work would end up being one of the best days of my life.

Some weirdo once said “do something that scares you everyday.” That weirdo was fucking brilliant. 

Today I auditioned to be a SoulCycle instructor. There were so many reasons why this was insane and made no sense. And even this morning I was on the fence on weather or not I should go through with it and Jen had to remind me why I wanted to do this in the first place.

But I did it.

And it was awesome.

We had to pick clips from two songs and this was one of them. This was the track for that big thick climb that you don’t think you can take. I only played the first 90 seconds but when I was done, people commented about how much they loved it. And it couldn’t have made me happier…until I talked to Aaren afterwards. She told me to look a the quote she tagged me in on Instagram. I read it and it made me stop in my tracks on Market street and almost cry

The women whom I love and admire for their strength and grace did not get that way because shit worked out. They got that way because shit went wrong, and they handled it. They handled it in a thousand different ways on a thousand different days, but they handled it. Those women are my superheroes.

Today was an amazing day for so many reasons. And this song will always remind me of it when I hear it from now on.

And I just love that.
