Pleasure & Consequence | City Calm Down
Today I woke up too early. Way too early. Earlier than the sun. I got to work before he did actually.
But it’s so nice to have the office completely empty and to yourself. When it’s empty like this you can see what this office could be, instead of what it is. You can see what this job could be instead of what it is. And you remember why you took it in the first place. you took it for the could be.
You didn’t take the job for the never-ending emails. or for the annoying politics. or for the time wasting ego-management. You didn’t take it for the paycheck. Or for the benefits. Or for the resume lift.
You took this job because although you couldn’t really see what was in front of you, saw this dim glimmer that you were drawn to. And although since you’ve started the glimmer’s flickered a bit, when you’re alone in your empty office it’s there…unobstructed…shedding light on that could be that brought you there.
…or maybe it’s just the sun…finally getting it’s ass to work.
