Straight, No Chaser.
That’s how I want someone to take me.
I finally finished reading that 40 days of dating project. And out of that entire roller coaster ride they called a design project, that was really a relationship project (aka a relationship), this was the only statement that really stood out to me: Strait, No Chaser.
On day twenty-four, when Tim was asked “how do you feel about this relationship/project right now?”, he mentioned the Thelonious Monk track “Straight, No Chaser” and felt that was how he was feeling about the project. “Straight to the head, no chasers, no buffer, no apologies.”
Word.
Out of all the endless descriptions of love, relationships, commitment, whatever, this one hits a note that resonates with me. This one is spot on. This is once describes what I think it should feel like. This is how I want someone to take me. And this is how I want to take them.
Straight, No Chaser.
