Oh New Years Day.

The day you’re supposed to resolve to change. The day you’re supposed to take what you didn’t like about the previous year and put it behind you. The day you’re supposed to make choices to become the version of yourself you want to be.

But the thing is it’s no different than what some of us try to do everyday. Work through the shit that’s holding us back. Let go of the shit that’s weighing us down. I am surrounded by people who go through life like beautiful warriors fighting everyday battles. Some we win. Some we don’t think we win. But we do it because it’s all we know how to do. Because it’s who we’ve decided to be. 

This year I’m resolving to not change. I’m resolving to keep fighting those battles. I’m resolving to keep working through the shit that’s holding me back and letting go of the shit that’s weighing me down. Because although it’s been hard, messy, and ugly at times, It’s been fucking awesome. And I think I’ve got a little bit longer to go.
