I read this article yesterday and loved it.
Fucking loved it.
Now, I’m completely biased, I know. But it was fucking refreshing to find that this evolutionary explanation for men’s and women’s attitudes towards sex were being scientifically challenged and refuted.
The notion that men are naturally inclined to be more promiscuous or more accepting of casual sex than women has always been baffling (and infuriating at times to be honest) to me. I just never bought it.
I never bought that somehow these tendencies or behaviors were not as instinctual for women. I never bought the idea that the way I personally viewed sex and relationships was unnatural. I never bought the Whoa. You’re like the guy comments to be anything other than dismissive cop-outs.
Sorry. No. I’m not like the guy. I’m the girl. A ridiculously awesome and fun girl.
I can’t help it. It’s in my nature.
