It’s funny how hard it’s been to write about music lately.

It’s also funny that I used the word “funny” to describe this situation.

Because most of the time I think it’s sad, or frustrating, or disappointing, or telling that I haven’t been compelled to write about the new tracks I like,

I’ve been trying to figure out why. And I’m sure there are lots of reasons - time, motivation, inspiration, fatigue.

But I think the one thing has been standing out to me is the “new” element.

I’ve been focused on sharing new music. Music that hasn’t been released for over a month. Music that hopefully people haven’t heard yet.

But to be honest that’s never why I started this project. It was never to share new music. It was just to share music.

Music I loved.

Music that moved me.

Music that sparked an emotion.

Music that sparked a memory.

Music that reminded me of why I love music so much.

So I think I’m going to go back to that.

No more focusing on sharing new tracks to help people discover music.

And back to sharing tracks that show me how much I love music.

To help people connect with how much they love music too.
