Chemtrails Over The Country Club - Lana Del Rey
I went to bed to this track yesterday.
It lulled me softly to sleep.
I needed that comfort. Especially this weekend. I think we all did.
I was lucky.
I had three says off. I got to go hiking. I got to go surfing…twice. I got to see friends. I got to have the comfort and connection I needed.
And then last night got really windy. Eerily windy. Like a storm was coming. Like nature didn’t feel at rest.
It made me feel like a kid again - when an eerily windy night made me too scared to go to sleep. So I needed a track that was eerily soothing.
Sometimes we need that. A track that doesn’t try drive the eeriness away. But instead connects us with it. A track that expresses some of the discomfort, shadow, and haziness that comes with eeriness - and makes it a little less scary…and a little softer.
So we can close our eyes, and go to sleep.
