Don't Bite - REVE D'ELLE, TÂCHES
Yesterday a friend told me on of her friends has a playpen.
Not a real one. A figurative one.
When he’s spending time with someone and doesn’t want to get close, instead of putting up a wall between them, he puts the other person in a playpen.
I asked if I could borrow it.
But then today I realized, I didn’t want that.
Some of us are playpen people. Some of us aren’t.
Some of us need to put boundaries around our emotions. And some of us just can’t.
Some of us want to see the full beauty of connection. Even when it doesn’t seem “beautiful” at first glance.
Some of us want to experience the full spectrum of expression with others. Even when the ends of that spectrum are sharp.
Some of want a playpen.
Some of us want more.
