What Am I Gonna Do Today | The Regrettes
What are you going to go today?
That’s the question my mother asked me as we ended our FaceTime Mother’s Day brunch together.
Usually, if someone asks me that on a weekend I give them a list of at least three errands, two definite plans, and one tentative one. People’s react as if it’s a lot, but that’s a normal weekend day for me.
But today, when she asked, I just said “I don’t know.”
It’s been kinda nice to curtail my plan-making. To not have my day fully booked from the moment I leave my house. To not have to be conscious of time. To not have to text “running late” every time I head to the next destination.
It’s bee kinda nice to now know what my day is going to look like.
And to get on my bike, put on this track, and just ride until I want to come home.
