Last weekend I went on a “hike” with my friend Elizabeth. And by “hike” I mean we had intentions to go on a hike but instead opted for brunch and shopping in hayes valley (to-may-to, to-mah-to).
When I was trying on a jumpsuit this song came on. While one hand was in the sleeve, the other was in the air trying to SoundHound this track.
“How’s does it look?”
I tried to answer “I don’t know because my love for music is more important than my love of fashion and I’ve stopped everything so I can try to capture this song on SoundHound (who is repeatedly failing me right now) before it ends”. But instead I said “Um. Yeah. Great. But I think I’m going to need a larger size if it’s going to fit over my…girls.”
When we were at the register. I asked the person at the counter if they could find the song that played before the last song. I confessed to Elizabeth the reason for my unusually long fitting room time and tried to show her my inactive SoundHound app.
“Wait. Which song? This song?”
As she showed me the Shazam screen on her phone, my SoundHound miraculously displayed the song…that was mirrored in her phone.
Elizabeth and I met on our first day at work. We sat next to each other at orientation and instantly connected.
She’s warm, smart, thoughtful, real…and about 17 other positive adjectives.
When I meet a person like that, it’s not hard for me to like them. And if they’re someone I can connect with, it’s awesomeness. But when both of us Shazam/SoundHound the same track at the same time, that’s when I know I’ve found someone special.
