In the Musicals | Björk
I had another post all set up for today but I just had to write about Björk instead.
Last week a stranger at the Anderson .Paak show asked me “if you could listen to one artist, or band, for the rest of your life, who would it be?” I’ve asked myself that often for a while now and I always land on Björk. And yesterday was her birthday. So, I’ve been listening to her all week.
I love Bjork because she has as song that goes with everything: being happy, being sad, feeling up, looking up, hooking up, getting weird, getting dark, getting deep, getting down…everything. But this morning I listened to a song that no other song has ever made me feel.
No other song has ever made me feel so much like a kid again. A kid that’s found, and fallen in love, with their favorite toy. A kid so entranced with it that they do pirouettes up and down the hallway and choreograph a dance routine as they get dressed. (Yes…I actually did that this morning)
I know Björk isn’t for everyone. But no one has made me fall in love with falling in love with music as much as her.
Happy Belated Birthday Lady.
