Today someone asked me why fall is my favorite season.

I had lots of answers. My birthday’s in that season. I love the colors of the leaves. I like wearing sweaters and boots. My birthday’s in that season.

But the biggest reason is that fall is the time when you start to see your world in a different way.

In the fall, the sun’s angle in the sky starts to lower and you can see the slightest change in everything. You walk around and even though everything around you is the same, it’s somehow transformed.

I don’t know why, but i like that feeling. There’s something comforting about having the things you recognize feel unknown all of a sudden. To have the familiar feel unfamiliar.

There’s something comforting about things feeling strange.

And letting yourself slowly acclimate to it over time.
