Mother Protect | Niki & The Dove

Today is my mom’s birthday.
I could write about all the wonderful things she’s done for me my whole life. I could also write about the not so wonderful things that have taken place too. I could write about all the great things I wish for her. And I could write about all the ways I wish she would change. I could write down all the questions I have for her. The questions I would put in such a way that would hopefully make her question the way she sees the world and allow her to open her eyes to what she’s missing out on.

I could talk…and talk…and talk…and shout…and cry…and talk some more.

Or I could just say Happy Birthday Mom…and listen.
