If You Went Away | Daniel Wilson

Last week I had a really exciting call with someone at Black Girls Code. After the call, I got super psyched and tweeted about it. Some awesomely supportive people favorited and made me smile. And then my ex favorited it.

And that didn’t make me smile.

Then I stopped myself and thought “maybe he’s just really strong supporter of Black Girls Code and favorites tweets that mention them.”

Nope. 

So I had to sit and think and be honest with myself to figure out why  something so small and seemingly un-meaningful pissed me off. And when I did, all that could come into my mind was:

You wanted out. So stay out.

You wanted out. I wanted to talk. i wanted to figure shit out. But you didn’t.

You didn’t want to talk. You didn’t want to figure shit out. You just wanted out.

And you got what you wanted. You got out.

So stay out. 

And if you turn around and look back from time to time, keep that to yourself. Because there’s no place in my life for people who aren’t willing to talk or figure shit out.
