You're Good but I'm Better | Kill J

You're Good but I'm Better | Kill J

I love this track and have been listening to it non-stop. And when I read what Kill J wrote about it, I know why:

You´re Good But I´m Better is about the crush that went stale and toxic. About the bitter cocktail made up of sexual frustration, feeling invisible, lovesickness and alcohol.

I wanted to tell you for so long. You´re so fucking perfect. I finally found the courage in a bottle… But my admiration and infatuation turned into envy and bitterness. I love you, and I hate you for not loving me back.

This song brought me back to a place I don’t like returning to but happens from time to time. It’s funny how there are those people that sick with you after years have passed. That you don’t think of until a mutual friend pops up in the social landscape or a TV show or Movie you watch together comes up in conversation and brings back memories. Everything that was so faded and distant becomes so tangible.

It usually makes me want to reach out.

But instead I listen to a song like this that hits the sweet spot. And lets me feel a little cavalier as I roam the city.
