I don’t think I ever felt the sadness of this song until this.

I mean it’s not the happiest of songs. But there’s something hopeful in it. There’s something hopeful in celebrating a “perfect” day. Celebrating the cheesiness of it. And how you need that cheesiness to keep you going.

Sometimes you have to come home and belt it out about a perfect day. To remind yourself of what other days could be. And remind yourself that you make all of your days. And that you could make them all perfect ones if you tried. 

But this version has such a sad tone. Like this tone of defeat. Like you came home from one of those perfect days and were reminded of what other days could be. But hat you make all of your days. And you could never make them all perfect days even if you tried.

Damn Twin Shadow. We’re going to find you some better Sangria.
