Days | The Drums

For some reason I keep listening to the last album by The Drums.

I really like it better than their last one. There’s a little darkness to it that I find a bit comforting. And no, not because I like dark shit…well…actually…I do…but that’s not it. It’s that their beachy sound with a darker twist makes me long for my favorite beach moments…the night beach moments. Those moments where everyone’s gone inside to help get dinner ready but you stay outside to enjoy the almost beach.

You’re freezing because the sun is gone. And sand is getting in your eyes because it’s windy. But you stay outside. You stay because you don’t want to day to end. But it has…you just haven’t accepted it. You haven’t accepted defeat. But at some point you do. And you get a little sad the moment that you realize that beautiful day is gone. And you get up. brush the sand off the back of your thighs and head to the house where everyone is…drinking and laughing…and smiling at you as you come in…as you realize that a fun night is just about to start.
