Orsay - Catching Flies
I love museums.
I’m sure part of it has to do with the fact that my mom studied art history.
And I’m sure part of it has to do with the fact that I grew up in Chicago - with one of the best art museums in the world.
Or maybe it’s because I just love art.
I love that museums are these communal spaces where you can get lost in art…surrounded by strangers.
As long as the ugly sticker they give you when you pay for admission doesn’t fall of your clothes, you’re free to explore and roam wherever you want without worry.
In some ways museums are a lot like dance floors.
We’re in this space with complete strangers but we’re all part of the same group.
We’re all there to see art we love.
We’re all there to see an artist we love.
We’re all there to experience art in a new way.
We’re all there to be inspired or excited.
I would love to go to Paris and dance to this track in the museum of its name.
To hear the beats bellow throughout the old train station.
To look up at the sky through the windows in the ceiling while listening the strings of this track.
To experience my museum love and my dance floor love uniting for the first time.
And I kinda think that’s what Catching Flies wants for all of us with this track.
