I woke up in a funk this morning.

I woke up in one of those moods where I already dread the day.

I woke up in one of those moods where I dread the idea of talking to people.

I love people. They’re my favorite part of living in this world…next to music (but I don’t think you can actually have music without people so I guess we’re back to people).

I love people but they just get in the way.

They get in the way of my thoughts. They get in the way of my emotions. They get in the way of my ability to just “be”.

People get in the way of my being able to get lost in the world…or lost in my head.

Days I like these I hate living with someone. Days like these, I hate going to my job. Days like these, I cancel plans with friends because as much as I love them…the thought of having to talk with people feels excruciating.

Days like these I just want to be by myself.
