This weekend was a dream. And this track is helping me keep that dreamy state alive.
Friday I deep cleaned my apartment so I could relax all weekend. And I did.
Saturday, I spent time with Jeff. We just hung out by the pool all day, played with the dog, and watched Drag Race and The Princess Diaries (for some reason I wanted to finally watch it). On the surface it was fabulous day. But on the inside, I felt so happy just being around someone I’ve known for almost 20 years.
Sunday, I went to Palo Alto to see my OSL girl gang. We biked around the neighborhood and had a socially distant dance party in the totem park woods of Stanford’s campus.
Biking back at night was so felt surreal. I felt like we were kids rushing back home because we were late for curfew - which I’ve never experienced. I never rode a bike around my neighborhood when I was a kid. I didn’t grow up in a neighborhood where my mom felt it was safe enough to let me do that. So this seemingly unadventurous night ride was amazing. Riding with my friends at night through the park, through the trees, on the street, and on trails made me feel like I was one of the kids in ET or The Goonies. It made me feel like I was living a childhood moment I never had but always wanted.
And Monday was a great way to end it all. Michelle and I drove to half moon bay, picked up some food, and found an open space to have a picnic overlooking the beach. Nothing fancy. Nothing big. Just quality time outside with one of my favorite people. And on the way home I had a driveway beer hang with Spencer and Lauren at their new place. We finally live in the same city again and I could be happier.
Yeah. This weekend was an absolute fucking dream. And this track is helping me keep that dreamy state alive.
