Dear Los Angeles | golda
This track really captures a spirit of LA in a lovely way.
L.A. has been on my mind a lot today.
My company announced that if we can do our job remotely, then we can…permanently.
When I told some friends, they first thing they asked if I was moving back to L.A.
I love L.A. I love culture, the space, the terrain, the architecture. For a while now, I’ve thought about moving back. I’ve missed a city that appreciates art, artists, the creative process, and culture. SF definitely hasn’t in a while. It used to. But SF’s appreciation for culture got replaced with its appreciation of convenience and optimization.
L.A. has its down sides too: superficiality, traffic, droughts, traffic. L.A. can wear on you the way no other city can. Because as you struggle to build the life you want, you’re enveloped by sunshine, perfect weather, beautiful people, and beautiful spaces that make it hard for you to see how hard it can be to live there.
I still love L.A. tho. Because no city is perfect. Each one has it shortcomings.
But the shortcomings of L.A. can be so worth it…if they don’t wear you down.
