There’s a sweet resign to this song. It’s one that I’m not sure how I feel about. But it’s one that I think I’ve made, as uncomfortable as it makes me.

There’s something about this back and forth that I hate. That you can be with someone and feel so isolated. But no matter how much distance you create, they’re always with you. I hate that something, or someone, can feel so unfulfilling and unescapable at the same time.

I hate how baffling that can be while at the same time feel completely comprehensible.

I hate how “off” that feels, while feeling completely innate.

I think that’s why I love this song. Because instead of being jarring or dissonant, it’s harmonious and smooth. As if to say this tension wasn’t anything to hate or fight against or have hold you back. But something that you just take with you…and learn to dance with.
