No Return | Massane
It’s been a month since we’ve been in shelter in Place.
Yesterday, I went on a hike with some friends. The four of us where in a perfect 6ft x 6ft sq as we walked and talked. The beginning of the hike was brutal - seeing each other and not being able to hug hello. The goodbye was just a brutal. I felt that tension I first experienced as a kid when I was playing with magnets for the first time and dumbfounded at how hard it was to pull certain two apart.
It was not easy.
But the hike was nice. The hike was needed.
I needed it after a month of this. I needed it after a month about worrying about my friends and family. I needed it after a month trying not to worry about my mom. I needed it after a month of not knowing how to help the people who can’t social distance to keep do (and keep) their jobs. I needed it after a month questioning and evaluating every COVID related information I read or hear. I needed it after a month of not trying to predict what the world is going to look like post-COVID.
A listening to this track on the way there, and back ,was exactly what I needed too.
